Steorn is an Irish company which claims to have developed a magnetic device that produces "free energy". In July of 2007, they scheduled a demonstration at the Kinetica Museum in London. That demo was a total failure. A sort of post-mortem took place the following day in private. Someone got some video and audio clips of those sessions and they are presented here. Nothing in them (or anywhere else) suggests that Steorn has made any scientific discovery of value whatsoever.

Steorn at Kinetica, video's from Saturday 7/7/2007 -Session by invitation only.

(Last edited July 26, 2007 appx 9PM GMT/UCT)

This is a direct link to the videos of Sean's talks.

For the experiment videos, just scroll down.

This blog is about a session which took place *after* the failed demonstration of "Orbo" by Steorn at Kinetica in July 2007. On July 6, Sean MacCarthy gave a long rambling talk at Kinetica. That one is available on Youtube here for Part 1 and here for Part 2.

Another session with Sean MacCarthy took place at Kinetica July 7 and no portion of that one has been made public until now -- it was by invitation only. Many video and still cameras were openly used that day. Someone sent me some clips anonymously which purport to show some experiments done that day by visitors.

I have divided the clips into experiments and talk. The three experiment clips are available below now. Two clips of Sean's talk are also posted. Sean also talked at his laptop with graphics-- that will follow later as I have the time. Someone who was there described Sean's talk and laptop graphics to me as incomprehensible and meaningless. You decide. There are some really odd comments on Steorn's forum about these clips. If I have time, I will copy over some of them later and try to formulate a reply if I can stop laughing long enough.

Sean MacCarthy was present in the area at least some of the time that the "experiments" shown below were going on but he did not seem to participate. Whyy that is, one can only guess.

IMPORTANT: THESE VIDEOS WERE OBTAINED COVERTLY BY A GUEST INVITED TO THE PROPRIETARY SESSION ON JULY 7 WHEN KINETICA WAS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC. THESE DID NOT ORIGINATE WITH STEORN, ARE NOT ENDORSED BY STEORN AND DO NOT SHOW ANYTHING TO SUGGEST THAT STEORN HAS ANY OVERUNITY DEVICE! IT IS NOT CLEAR THAT THE DEVICE SHOWN IS THE SAME ONE STEORN WAS PLANNING TO DEMO. PLEASE VIEW THE CLIPS CAREFULLY AND DRAW YOUR OWN CONCLUSIONS!

IF ANYONE HAS ADDITIONAL OR BETTER VIDEO, AUDIO, OR COMMENTS ABOUT THE PRIVATE SESSION AT KINETICA ON JULY 7, PLEASE SEND THEM IN AS DESCRIBED BELOW!!

You can also forward clips and still images to "Steorntracker" for publication on the Freeenergytracker blog using this email:

By the way, Steorntracker is NOT the author of THIS blog.

Steorn also runs a forum (click) but they sometimes ban people and delete posts so I can't recommend them for serious discussions.

Nothing in these videos suggest that Steorn demonstrated "overunity". The device shown consists of a stator, a rotor and some magnets. Oh, and maybe some of the "legendary" bearings. In these experiments, rotation was started with a push from someone's hand. The device then spun down. It spun down faster when the magnets were installed than when they were not. It "ran" about two minutes.

Note that there is plenty of space in the "hub" of the device to hide both a motor and a battery. If Steorn shows a device like this in the future and it seems to be working, it needs to be inspected and disassembled by a competent believable person with no connection to Steorn. If such an inspection is not provided and replicated by others, it is safe to assume the device is a fraud/fake.

You can also find the videos directly on Youtube by searching for keywords Steorn and demo. The videos run 1:01 (min:sec); 2:20 and 5:19 respectively.

The image below was captured from one of the videos using the light from another camera's flash. It shows one of the "rotors" used in the experiments being measured by a visitor. It's shown to remind viewers that there is plenty of opaque space in that apparatus to hide a micromotor and sufficient batteries to run it for weeks.

Again: please remember-- you can not comment or email from here. The links above will take you to places where you can.

PLEASE CHECK BACK HERE OCCASIONALLY FOR UPDATES, SELECTED COMMENTS MADE ELSEWHERE, AND MAYBE MORE VIDEOS AND CONVERSATION ABOUT STEORN.

Steorn at Kinetica July 7, 2007 -- Invitation Only Meeting. Sean speaks... a lot!

I've been asked to include the videos of Sean speaking Saturday July 7, at Kinetica. I have more than an hour of clips. I will post more as I have time, so please check back. It's a tedious process. I realize the voice recording is not always intelligible. Want to know for sure what Sean meant? Ask him!

My favorite quote from the video (but I removed it from the clips because it clearly identified who said it):

Person 1: "Sean is over there speaking. He's just not saying anything!"

Person 2: "Yes. He's very good at that."

NOTES: If you have problems with sound or picture, it's probably your problem. Check to make sure you can view other Youtube videos. Youtube can be slow or even "down". If you have problems, try refreshing the page in your browser or try again a few minutes or hours later.

Enjoy!

Clip #1 starts on July 7, 2007 in the late morning (not sure of local time zone). It runs about 6 minutes and shows Sean MacCarthy addressing the "invitations only" group.

Clip #2 is the continuation of clip #1. It also runs about 6 minutes.
